Doing well to get SLEDcc a separate identity as part of the CC.
I think it will help a lot - and should make it easier to convince bosses that it is in fact a proper serious and academic event!

Thanks Daniel! ... still a ways to go to convince them all that a separate brand is necessary - but I'm going to keep trying. Associating even "PG content" with a seriously questionable display of content (e.g. Eros, Strokerz, etc.) conveys problems for the SLED track to portray itself as an education conference with worthy scholarly activities and content generated with intellectual and ethical integrity. This is quite a process!

Will there be a call for proposals or are people going to just be invited to present at the conference?

Hi Chris!

the Call for Proposals was released a week ago today. It was posted to the SLED list and to the main conference site: http://www.slconvention.org Guess it should be placed front and center here too, huh? -- I'll do that AND attach it to this reply.

Hope to see you in Tampa!

Another question: What is the relationship between this site and the wiki at http://sledcc.wikispaces.com/Tools+and+Projects?

Reply to This

http://sledcc.wikispaces.com/ is the wiki for SLEDcc... a more stable, less open and roiling kettle of fish than the Ning. :) The wiki is the spot to find the evolving "official" SLEDcc documentation (right now being used primarily for the development of the SLEDccademy Awards assessment criteria by our AWESOME teams). I've taken your question as a prompt to add that wiki as a link to the top of the Ning page - and will link back to the Ning community from the wiki too. cheers, Wain

Rockcliffe's inworld facilities will be available to the SLEDcc Committee for the SLCC as needed. We have 2 full sims and 2-3 void sims that I'm willing to make available for projects / events. What staff we have that will not already be at the SLCC in person should be available to help during the days of the conference as well. I should have a better idea of numbers by end of June if that is workable. - Phelan Corrimal
